To Save Our Climate We the People Must Vote Out 87% of Congress this Nov 4th

Folks, did you know the Miami, FlorIda now floods at high tide!  And it is only September of 2014!

To Save the Planet the Congress Must be Fired

 

If you are tired of the constant Beyond Sense (BS) we are fed about the climate time-clock, then watch this and listen to the scientist on the video. This is another real and grim reason why we have no practical choice other than voting the 469 incumbent members of the US Congress out-of-office this November 4th.

Because, IF his calculations are close to correct then the world could have LESS THAN 20 YEARS until the oceans and the forests die; and so will we. We must vote out at least all the Republicans in Congress that are the most owned of the 2 political parties. After flipping the Congress in November we must move the UN World Climate Conference up from next Fall to this coming March 1st. And the required industrial actions that would have waited until about 2020 MUST begin in 2015.

The Republican Party (owned by Oil and Coal) and to only a slightly lesser extent the Democratic Party (in our nation)  have contributed to the delaying the next meeting and then the implementation of critical climate-saving Reforms for 5 more years. It is the same legislative game the Republicans played (owned by Medical Insurance) delayed certain parts of the 2011  Health Care Reforms until 2013 and 2014 -- so they would have time to kill them! They will voted over 50 times to do just that.  Profits must stop being more important than People and the global environment – before it is too late. And it almost is…

We the People must Vote out the 469 of 535 Congressional incumbents up for re-election this November 4th.

We will then BE ALLOWED to put America and the World on the aggressive road to Climate Recovery!

A Global Warming Reality Check -- The Water Is Rising Too Fast!!

Environmentally speaking the melting of the Poles and Greenland is my biggest concern.   

This is a sobering, realistic, and frankly grim scientific analysis of what is really going on with the melting of the North and South Pole regions, and Greenland.  Dark Snow Project Chief Scientist Dr. Jason Box is interviewed byBill Maher, on the July 12, 2014 Real Time with Bill Maher Show.  The doctor is moving to higher ground.  Really!

That interview speaks for itself. 

Like a lot of people I accept the reality of rising ocean levels.  Simply because it is really happening!  

According to Dr. Jason Box it is not only happening faster, but it could very well be several times higher (deeper) than the greater scientific community believes. And, he has a good track record with his indepedent predictions.  

We are not talking that many decades until coastal communities around the world - which is where vast numbers of the world's population lives today - will need to have been relocated.

OF COURSE, that gargantuan construction project is not even being talked about. There is no Congressional leadership, like no Congressional leadership! 

In case you were not aware of it, the melting also has resulted in far more water being retained in the atmosphere around the whole earth.  That is why instead of having an inch of rain in a typical storm, we are experiencing multiple inches and terrible flooding in places where it is not at all normal.

 My Crazy Thought?

Forgive me, but I must throw this out for discussion and probable initial ridicule.  Of course, we are working at reducing greenhouse gases and playing around with ideas to clean the atmosphere.  So, why don't we at least quickly study and put a price tag on artificially recreating the Ice Shield of the North Pole. The "solar" Ice Shield that is suppose to reflect the sun's rays and keep the ocean from warming and the Poles and Greenland from melting.  I have been making some calls and Interent research on this idea, but thus far have not any related research projects.

Yes, it would be a huge and long project.  Although, it would be a non-profit project, material costs might be minimized by using global Recycling, and labor costs could be controlled with an unlimited number of volunteers from around the world to build it.  

It would be part of the overall global plan.  If it slows, stops, reverses the melt we win. If it reduces the number and/or gives us more time to relocate so many people - great! 

Just a thought. . .

The Dysfunctional State of the US Congress

I don’t know about you folks, but I never thought our government could or would ever become this dysfunctional to the Common Good of our citizens. However, increasingly over the last 30-odd years it certainly has. Blatantly, over the last fourteen (14) years our elected national leadership has willingly disconnected itself from the needs of the Many in order to serve the wants of the Few.  By the Few, I mean the Wealthy 1% to 10% and what I categorize as certain Big Industries.  Specifically, in February 2008 I first proposed the necessity of restructuring certain Big Industries; those being Oil, Health Insurance, Pharmaceutical, Banking and Wall Street Investment Houses, Defense, and Tobacco (just because they still kill hundreds of thousands of us every year).  Recently, due to our growing Cost-of-Living crisis, I have placed the abusive Food/Grocery Industry – from the farm and wharf to the grocery store shelves – with its soaring prices right next to Oil at the head of the infamous list.

The sub-title of that in-their-face short story is, “While Their Congress is Away and Until Our November Vote We Citizens Will Consider Our Options”.  This posting is intended as a brief and blunt announcement of my recommended 2014 Electoral Strategy for the November 4^th National Vote!

Our First Problem to be Confronted and Resolved

I believe, 90% of us appreciate that our Number One problem my fellow Americans is the current 535 members of the US Congress, and, the undeniable Truth that they are now bought and paid for by those representing the Wealthy and the Big Industries mentioned above.  There can be no question about that.  

It is appropriate for me to clarify that I am a confirmed political Independent, with little or no respect left for the Democratic or Republican Parties.  Even less for the childish Senior Leadership in both houses in Congress that are a daily international embarrassment for our nation.  What you will be reading here and in that Political Short Story deliberately thrashes the Republican Party because they have most earned it.  However, the Democrats will pay a political price and be put on notice for their inability to get anything accomplished for us also.

Thus, I declare the following Plain Truth to all my fellow Americans with an open and objective mind, which frankly, is at least 60% of us!  If we the ignored-by-Congress citizens, do not electorally remove most of the 468 members running (again) for re-election this November – the only guarantee is that nothing on our current and growing list of national problems will be touched!  That is, until at least after the 2016 Presidential and Congressional Election. Bluntly we do not have that precious time to waste.

Further, if we do not take such required Electoral action in the 2014 or 2016 Elections to realistically purge the Congress – the publicly dysfunctional economic Status Quo will surely be maintained.  “Nothing” is exactly what the Few that fund the incumbent members of Congress re-election campaigns expect them to do!  Their Do Nothing Congress… 

On the other hand, the title and sub-titles of this announcement describe what could happen if We the People gather the collective courage and embrace my recommendation to strategically dismiss most of the 468 members of their US Congress. As a result, we will make their stunned replacements our public servants; elected to implement the problem-solving Reforms detailed in our politically Independent platform. 

Our Reform Demands are not the standard Democratic Progressive/Liberal agenda.  The nation cannot afford such social nonsense anymore.  For example, it does not include a pathway to citizenship for millions of Illegal Occupants (IOs) walking around our nation!  The common sense logic of a prudent and practical Immigration Policy is detailed in the platform and the majority of Americans will be supportive.  We have an Independent and written platform that addresses many social and economic problems and provides the viable model for others to be solved. 

The last two (2) years of Obama’s Republican battered presidency could then be highly productive. The potentially historic 2014 Electoral Strategy that I challenge the voters to support, will remove any remaining doubt about the 2016 Presidential Election.  If she decides (very likely) to run Hillary Clinton will be elected President of the United States.  Should Hillary not run for whatever reason the Democrat’s proven backup Joe Biden will as easily be elected. He would be the man for the job.

In simple political reality, the real Republican leadership already knows the American Electorate will not put a Republican in the White House in 2016.  Just like they knew it in 2008 and 2012, as their strange band of candidates and final Presidential and VP nominees demonstrated. Now that same boring scenario is already beginning to play itself out for 2016.  But, the Republicans and their professional fundraisers will still play the 2015/16 campaign cycle game to get tens of millions from mislead donors just to line their pockets. The Plain Truth, again.

 This posting is provided as an easy reference for those that want to find out how long the current members of US Congress both House and Senate have been in Washington, DC.  Since I am running for Maryland’s 8^th US District seat in the US House I have detailed my state’s delegation first and then a few links to the House and Senate tables. 

Please note that when you are looking at a given Senator’s start date that they could have also had years of service in the US House before being elected to the US Senate. The current Senators from Maryland provide such examples. Any prior US House years are not reflected in the linked tables. You will need to go to the given Senator’s website for that background information.

And for that matter Maryland’s other seven (7) members in the US House and our two (2) US Senators? It certainly looks and feels like absolutely nothing to me. It must not be an issue for them. 

They could describe me as being naïve about developing viable problem-solving public legislation.  However, I have observed and studied domestic and foreign policy all my adult life; now 66 and a second year Baby Boomer. I had a 30+ year career in the Information Technology industry in Washington, DC working for Federal agencies and corporate clients; designing systems and solving their business problems.

Incumbents could attack me as some “anti-free market” type to suggest we take decisive Reform actions against certain Big Industries such as Food, Oil, Housing, and Education (and more) as I do in my detailed Independent platform. To that I would first sarcastically respond, “What free markets?”  Then, ask what they could offer now that will result in such practical control over the out-of-control, Cost-of-Living?

I ask the Voters, as well as the Press at all levels and other media (they buy food and gas, too) to challenge all the incumbents for their approach.  It would quickly become a 2014 Congressional campaign on real issues and actually solving the people’s problems.  In fact, the collective job description of the 535 members of the US Congress is “to solve the People’s problems that cannot be solved at the state or local levels”.  Further, as Thomas Paine wrote in Common Sense, he first described the Design of Representative government, “the members should vote as if those that elected them were present in the room when votes are cast”.   

All 535 members of Congress seem to have forgotten that fundamental expectation. A Congress actually looking out for our Common Good!  Congress has earned a 90% Public Disapproval rating because they so willingly serve the 10%.

I am a solid Independent and have little respect left for either political Party or the Congress that is publicly dysfunctional!   My base Independent platform of 27 problem-solving proposals was self-published in February 2008, a 718-page book, The Second Coming of Common Sense. With true difficulty, over these last few years I have struggled with the most sensitive economic problems of all.  How in our Democratic society to effectively and fairly conquer our citizen’s Number One daily problem. The steadily increasing and most would agree now out-of-control, Cost-of-Living (starting with groceries and gas)and the resulting growing national Wealth Imbalance?

The absolute economic challenge is how to get and/or keep real dollars in our citizen’s pockets?  Right where your and the nation’s economy need them. For the 90% of us!  To address the fact that wages have been all but flat-lined for decades.  It is not as though we can ask employers to give their employees a $5.00/hour raise.  That just cannot happen! Therefore, we must be creative or things will only get worse!

I highlighted those difficult economic Reform proposals in my recently completed campaign book entitled, A Timely American Political Short Story. A free PDF download of the book was posted on the website Friday August 15, exactly 83 days before the November 4^th Congressional Election.  Please read it and find out what is in it for you and yours, and for our hurting fellow citizens!  Those 83 days are adequate time in American politics for great things to happen. 

Typically, such public-friendly problem-solving proposals will not see the light of day in their Congress that is blatantly controlled by the Wealthy and certain Big Industries. Hence the term, “do nothing” Congress! The viable Voter Strategy that We the People can use this November 4^th against the incumbent Republican and Democratic members Congress is detailed in A Timely American Political Short Story and in various other references on the website. As every two (2) years, 469 members of the House and Senate are up for re-election that fateful day and the majority of them need to be deliberately voted out! 

Bluntly, such solution-oriented proposals as these, need to become Voter Demands. Be assured folks these prudent Reforms will only happen if You Vote to make it so!  So, buckle your seatbelts my fellow citizens – this is a taste of necessary economic Reform for our Common Good!  Very briefly noted, we will Demand these Reforms and more from whoever is elected that day:

• GROCERY PRICES.  Cap and reduce by at least 10% for at least one (1) year.
• GASOLINE/DIESEL PRICES. Cap and reduce by at least 10% for at least one (1) year. 
• RESIDENTIAL MORTGAGE.  A mandated reduction in residential mortgage payments of 20% in principal and/or interest, only, not to include taxes, insurance, etc.  
• RESIDENTIAL RENT. Basically National Rent Control. Mandatory reduction in monthly rent of 20% for American citizen owned properties; 30% for non-citizen owned rentals. Also applies to Mobile/Modular Home Park Lot Fees.   
• SENIOR HOUSING.  Senior citizen housing monthly payments to be reduced by 20%.
• STUDENT LOANS.  A permanent 50% reduction in all Student Loan payments. Period!
• COLLEGE TUITION.  For starters there will be a 2-year freeze on tuition and books.   

I do represent my underdog campaign for Maryland’s 8^th US District seat in the US House of Representatives as a single US District campaign with a national platform.  I hope you now can see and appreciate what I sincerely mean. These are a small part of the problem-solving Reforms in my campaign platform that our citizens in all 435 US Districts need and that the US Congress must be made to implement for our Common Good.

Please review and consider my platform and very deliberate intent on your behalf.  Then, on Election Day consider Writing-In, “A J Wildman” for the US House.  I ask for your vote.
